Mattress / Asthma Question

Hi, I am nine weeks pregnant. We had a new bed delivered yesterday, this is my first brand new mattress. I have allergies and 'light' asthma. I've noticed that being in the bedroom with the mattress makes both my allergies and asthma flare up, and even using my inhaler (albuterol) as directed doesn't seem to help much. Obviously something in the mattress is causing the reaction, and we need to do something about it. I have been sleeping in the other room, but still feel the chest tightening elsewhere in the house, though not as severely. We will call the store today and see what they suggest, but my concern isn't so much for myself but the baby - could whatever the mattress is giving off that's reacting with me be toxic? Do you believe it could be detrimental to the baby? I'm not totally short of breath, just uncomfortable. I'm not sure how soon they can pick the bed up, or whether we should try a different brand of mattress or what. Any advice would be great, thanks.
