I'm not sure if this is really the place to ask questions pertaining to instances after child birth, but this has been the only realy insightful and helpful site I have come across and I hope someone can help me. I gave birth 6 weeks ago and just got up an hour ago from a 2 hr nap. When I got up I had severe bleeding, gush-like equivalent to maybe 4-5 tbsp. I have had no cramps, as I usually had with a period, and even so my periods are never gushing or sudden like that. I haven't had bleeding much since, just slight spotting. But my question is, is this a "new" period or something more? Am i going to have to deal with my periods being different? And if this is even what it is, is tampon usage at exactly 6 weeks after delivery safe? I had a tear also during delivery by my urethra and it caused me a lot of pain the first few weeks, but now it always feels like a pressure instead of a pain, could the bleeding be related to that? Please help. thanks.
