group beta strep- future implications

I am 37 weeks pregnant and being treated for GBS, and will be treated during delivery.

Can an antibiotic get rid of the GBS completely- forever? Or can it always come back?

Does this mean that for all future pregnancies I should be treated during delivery, since I am a carrier of the bacteria?

Thanks.
