I think a lot of it depends on the elasticity of your skin. I have countless stretch marks everywhere from developing in a short amount of time in my teens. My skin just doesn't have a lot of give to it. You might be able to try keeping lotion on to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. A lot of women swear by it.
