Shouldn't you be washing your hands before checking cervical mucus anyway? If semen gets in there, then yes, it's possible to get pregnant. But the chances of this happening seem exceedingly remote, in the fashion you have described. Wash your hands, use a clean towel, and this shouldn't be an issue.
