Pelvic size by clincal exam isn't too accurate, but there really isn't a good way to determine in advance whether a baby will fit or not. Overally, VBAC success is around 66%, but if done for lack of progress, without more detail, the success rate is around 50%. How to proceed--talk to your doc. VBACs are falling out of favor due to: 1. Recognition that complications are a bit more common than thought. 2. Recognition that a repeat section, scheduled, is rather safe, too. 3. Increased liability in VBACs. 4. Etc. The pendulum has swung from VBAC all (in the early 90s) to VBAC some. Good luck.
