epidurals vs. CSE and fetal bradycardia

I am thinking of having an epidural, but have heard that a CSE is actually more effective and safer. Opinion? Also, is it really true that epidural use "causes" fetal bradycardia in 1/10 cases? Is this a reason to avoid them?
