A quick birthFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Jun 2002 01:24:08 -0500 (CDT)
My labor was induced, and I went from 4 centimeters to 10 in 15 minutes. My baby's heart rate dropped to 40 and I literally pushed the baby out in 5 minutes/ 4 pushes without my doctor. Apparently, the cord was tightly wrapped around the baby's wrist. His 1 minute apgar was 7 and the 5 minute was 9. I am concerned about the possible lack of oxygen to the baby and brian damage. How could this delivey have affected my son? Luke is now 3 1/2 weeks old, and the only potentially abnormal characteristic I see is muscle twitching when he is sleeping. Could this be an indication of cerebal palsey?
