heartbeatFrom: Meredith (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Jun 2002 16:17:59 -0500 (CDT)
I am 8 weeks pregnant after insemination with my husband's sperm. We were carefully monitored by my reproductive endocronologist. At 6.5 weeks he released us to my regular obgyn because he heard and saw a clear heartbeat that was very strong. So, today I went for my first regular obgyn appt. The nurse practicioner did a sonogram and all looked well. When I asked about the heartbeat she said that she thought she saw a flicker that would be a heartbeat. I told her how clear it was at my endocronologist's office. She said that's because they have better equippment. This makes me nervous for many reasons... 1) is the baby okay? Should the heart really be less able to be seen/heard? 2) is this typical of obgyn machines and I'm just spoiled by the fancy IVF clinics? or should I consider switching obgyn's? Thanks for feedback!
