Heather,

Get a new doctor and hospital that will do a VBAC. I was induced (late) with my first baby, but the induction was not successful and I ended up with a c-section. I too felt they did the c-section too early. I only got 4 or 5 hours of pitocin. My first doctor just said he was too big, and my pelvis was too small. It turned out my baby was posterior, but I didn't find that out until I met with my new doctor for my second baby.

My 2nd child was almost 2 weeks late, so I was also induced. I got pitocin and she broke my water. It wasn't until she broke my water that things got moving. Well, we did need the vacuum extractor, but she did come out, weighing almost 9 lbs (and NOT posterior this time). Pretty big considering I have a small pelvis. My doctor kept telling me she thought I had a good chance for a VBAC, and with her total support I did it! Much better experience than the c-section.

I don't know if he is just saying this because it is easier >to do, and also my hospital no longer performs VBAC's because they don't
