A Question About Childbirth & PID...

If a woman gives birth vaginally and at the time she delivers she
happens to have Bacterial Vaginosis can she get Pelvic Infammatory
Disease?
I read some where that childbirth can be one of the causes of PID and I
was just wondering how can this be.
