Importance of doc appt in 1st tri.

I'm a military wife and we are about ready to move in a couple of weeks. I just found out I'm pregnant (8 weeks) and the local clinic is refusing to set me up with an appointment and is telling me to wait until we get to our next duty station. We will not be checking into our next station until I will be well into my second trimester (going on a vacation in between stations, which has been prebooked before we even knew we were pregnant and cannot be cancelled). I've explained this to the nurse and she got angry and said she would have to call us back (I have a feeling I will not be hearing from her). Just a little information about military medical care but basically if we live near a military medical facility we HAVE to use that facility and cannot go out in town to a civilian hospital, unless you want to pay out of pocket, which on military pay is basically not an option. My question is, how important is it to have an appointment in the first trimester - how hard should I be pushing to get an appointment before we leave??? My history is I've had 2 previous pregnancy's the most recent resulted in a miscarriage.

thank you for any information you can give......
