I would consider that a + for now. Doesn't really matter what the background looks like, and I've had several that did that. The hCG levels may be low still, which would cause a faint line. I'd either wait 2-3days and retest...just to make sure, or call your care provider and ask them for a blood test to measure the levels to confirm.
