Re: Benefits and risks of D&C after MC - doctors, pleaseFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 May 2002 21:32:35 -0500 (CDT)
Hopefully one of the docs will step in here and either confirm or deny my words, but...
>How can I tell if the worst is over?
Generally, you would see a slowing and cessation of the cramping and
bleeding. If it continues, if there seems to be no resolution, I would
be concerned.
> Foul smelling discharge (FOUL), fever, tenderness beyond cramping. Heavy bleeding, like soaking a maxi pad in less than an hour. Generally, as relatively early as you were I would tend to opt to not have the D&C, being very mindful of the warning signs. A uterine infection wont do wonders for future fertility and you would probably end up with a D&C anyway. So keep your eye open and dont be afraid to call your doc for advice or go in to the ER if needed.
