Tina,

I have Graves Disease (a form of hyperthyroidism) found after a m/c. My level was >.01. If your level is 5.45 you are borderline hypo. From what I understand (I am NOT a doctor) sometimes uncontrolled hypothyroidism can cause m/c. Speaking as someone who was lucky enough to go to a reproductive endo and then a regular endocrinologist, you should see one immediately. My endocrinologist carefully monitored my levels and when my TSH was between 1 and 2 he told me to try and get pg and I did and 9 months later had my baby girl. I hope this helped.
