high blood pressure and exercise questionFrom: M.L. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 May 2002 09:25:05 -0500 (CDT)
Everytime i go to the prenatal visits, the nurse says my blood pressure is high. I tell her i get anxious at doc office. Then they take it again after lying on my left side, and it goes down. My doctor says i should lie on my sides as much as possible, and to cut down on my exercise routine to 20 minutes. I have exercised regularly before pregnancy, i've gained about 46 pounds throughout my pregnancy, and now at 36 weeks. During pregnancy, i've been exercising 3 times a week doing pregnancy video, walking on treadmill, and arm weights, squats, lunges, toning for about an hour and a half each time. I don't consider it too much. do you think my blood pressure is at risk by my exercising? I worry about gaining any more weight, and 20 minutes just doesn't cut it for me.
