Complete Placenta Previa and recent Parvovirus infectionFrom: Charly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 May 2002 06:32:28 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there I was diagnosed as having fifths disease when I was 14 weeks pregnant, I have had some ultrasound scans and so far the baby is doing great, no sign of fetal hydrops. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and my doctor feels we are probably out of the woods so to speak and the baby will be fine. However I have been spotting on and off throughout this pregnancy and a scan at 17 weeks and 21 weeks have diagnosed complete placenta previa. My doctor has given me no information on this and has said we will discuss it if an ultrasound at 32 weeks still shows the placenta to be covering the cervix. I'm worried know that something else could go wrong with this pregnancy (this is my 8th pregnancy, 4 children and 3 miscarriages, one c-section). Should I be limiting any of my activities or just wait and see. My doctor has only advised me to go to the hospital if I begin to bleed again. Maybe I'm just panicing over nothing. What are the chances a complete previa will resolve it self, the sonographer described the placenta as being completly wrapped over the cervix. Any information from a Doctor or other mums who have experienced this would be great. Thank you in advance
