Re: follow-up Dr..Re: 26w and cramping, how much is ok?From: LaurieB (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 May 2002 19:42:23 -0500 (CDT)
Paula, For me the cramping wasn't even bad enough to bother me. Certainly not even bad enough to have thought of pain meds and a heating pad. From my Prepared Childbirth class manual, "You can trust your body to give you warning signals if problems arise. Trust your instincts. If you feel something is not quite right with you or your baby, that is the proper time to be evaluated." It also lists some signals of preterm labor such as: four or more contractions per hour; low dull backache; menstral-like cramps; unusual pressure in pelvis, lower back, abdomen or thighs; water or large amounts of mucus leaking from vagina; red, pink, or brown vaginal discharge. I would say if it's like a period or bothering you enough to have you worried, get it checked. The worst thing is they think you're worrying too much if nothing. If it is a problem, you'll be glad you checked. Not a medical professional, but just another very pregnant lady!
