please respond someone...

for the past four out of six cycles trying to conceive (this one is the sixth and it's included), i seem to get brownish, sometimes redish CM a few days before the Ovulation predictor kit gives me a positive. my cycles are around 33-36 days long (once it was 39 days long). the brownish stuff (right now it's turned more red!) happens like around day 14-18 and then i get (i hope to get one this month too!) a positive around day 18. is this what is called preovulatory spotting? (it's usually when i wipe myself, and it seems just like what my cervical mucus is, just a different color- almost like old blood color, sometimes light brown, sometimes dark, sometimes even red.) and is there anything to do to stop it? is it normal? does all this sound normal? i need some reassurance since i'm on day 16 and do hope to conceive some day soon!! please, all advice appreciated. (i just spoke to the dr. since we have been monitoring how long this has been going on and i will be going in the morning for an ultra sound to see what's going on in there.) can someone still respond before i go to the dr? thanks!
