Re: Diflucan 150mg during pregnancyFrom: paula (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 May 2002 19:33:39 -0500 (CDT)
Sheri, diflucan is in pregnancy catagory C, which means that it is unknown whether it will harm a fetus. personally, i would use monistat. it is used often in pregnancy, and seems to be perfectly safe. i doubt your doctor would give you something harmful, but at the same time, diflucan is a newer drug, and i wouldn't want to risk it. i was in almost the *exact* situation as you. i had BV in early pregnancy (at about 13w). i then had a UTI and was given keflex 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. i got a yeast infection from it and used monistat 7. it takes a little longer than diflucan, but i never doubted its safety. good luck in whatever you choose. love, paula 25w1d
