Re: Post-partum bleeding led to hysterectomy

My question is: is the placenta supposed to be >pulled from the mother, or is it supposed to be delivered naturally.

Think nature: Does it seem logical to have it ripped out? Why does it normally take some time? Think hospital: What might be a reason for ripping it out? (Maybe time=money? Maybe ignorance? Maybe "never mind, never did any harm before, we'll get away with it, and who cares about pain?")

My physicians have been nice to answer all of >my questions, but I am scared to ask them this question because I don't
>want them to think I am going to sue them or something.

Nice that they're nice, but they have sworn to do no harm. They did. I know what I'd prefer, and frankly, I think you should sue.
