Low Amniotic Fluid QuestionFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 21 May 2002 08:22:56 -0500 (CDT)
I posted yesterday, but my question seems to have disappeared off the board.... I am currently 8w2d pregnant and went to my OB yesterday for an ultrasound to date the baby. This was my second visit (first was at 6 weeks). The Dr. told me the baby has grown as expected and had a good strong heartbeat. However, he said that the amniotic fluid was very low and was concerned. He's asked me to come back in 2 weeks so he can see how the baby has progressed. He also noted that I had a vanishing twin that was partially re-absorbed (I'm not sure if that has any significance here). Of course, now I'm very concerned. What are the causes of this at such an early date? Is my baby potentially at risk?
