Theoretically, if the cervix needs the cerclage to maintain enough integrity to stay closed, removing the cerclage would mean that one should go into labor pretty shortly thereafter. This is also what the docs will say. Makes sense, right? But this is not always the case. One woman who I acted as labor coach for had it removed and went three more weeks before delivering. She is not the first that I have heard of, either.
