Karyn, First, there is no evidence that intevening for early delivery lessens your likelihood of cesarean section. Second, rapid growth of the uterus usually justifies an ultrasound to assess the amniotic fluid volume, fetal weight, etc. The measurement is only any estimate that should cause a reflex to a more definitive assessment...
