Hi. I'm just looking for some info. I'm 21 and so is my fiance, we have been ttc since january 2002 after a miscarriage at 8 weeks in november 2001, I needed a D&C for it. With the pregnancy in november we got pregnant on the first try. I've been charting and temping to determine ovulation and the length of my luteal phase. My usual luteal phase is 13 days, and I have a normal 30 day cycle with ovulation occuring on day 16. But last month my luteal phase was 16 days. This month I made it to 18 days past ovulation and took a pregnancy test, EPT, it was positive in about a minute. The next day I took two more, both positive, but all of them were light. I went to my doctor on monday to have my HCG numbers tested but the urine test that I took there was negative, so they opted not to test my numbers. I had been having pain in my left side, so the doctor thinks I may have an ovarian cyst. Is it common for them to give false positives? I go for an ultraound on friday to see if it's an ovarian cyst or if I had an early miscarriage. If it is an ovarian cyst, will it effect my future fertility? I was referred to a new ob-gyn, who I will see tuesday about the results of the ultraouns, but right now I'm feeling very worried about the possibility of having an ovarian cyst, and it effecting my ability to get pregnant and have a baby.
