Downs & U/S level 2 markersFrom: Maria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 14 May 2002 23:05:00 -0500 (CDT)
I tried to find an answer to this in the archive, but couldn't... I'm pregnant with twin boys, likely faternal - 19 weeks. The AFP test came back fine, but had level 2 U/S today and detected Nuchal thickening with a very minor heart deffect in one of the babies, and no Nuchal thickening in the other, but a more severe heart deffect. They are worried there is a chromosomal abnormality, and I did an amnio on both today. Won't have all the results for 2 weeks. My question: what is the likelihood that everything is fine if AFP came back OK, but these other down syndrome markers showed up? Thanks for the info.
