discrepency between lmp and crown rump mesurementFrom: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 May 2002 18:30:45 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently 9 wks 2 days acc. to the date of ovulation. I am certain of my ovulation date because I used an opk and was charting my temps. I had my first u/s at 6w6d with my RE. I measured 7w0d and a heartbeat was seen. Everything looked "normal". I had my first visit with my regular ob today and he did another u/s. The hearbeat was strong at 150 bbm. However the crown/rump measurement indicated that I was only 7w6d instead of 9w2d. My ob was encouraged by the hearbeat and thus "not worried." However he did say that sometimes a smaller measurement can indicate a threatened m/c. I have read that the error rate of u/s at this point are plus or minus 7 days. Should I be concerned? Could the discrepency be due to the fact that the RE's u/s machine was more sensitive than my obs? When comparing the pictures of the two u/s there is a noticable size difference in the fetus. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm trying hard not to get stressed out since I don't go back to the Dr for 4 weeks.
