discrepency between lmp and u/sFrom: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 May 2002 14:46:31 -0500 (CDT)
Acc. to my ovulation day (using opk and temp charting) I am 9 weeks, 2 days. I saw my RE at 6w6days for an u/s and the fetus measured 7 weeks 0 days.Heartbeat was clear and strong. Today I saw my ob for the first time and he did another u/s. This time the crown/rump measurement indicated I was 7 weeks 6 days. The heartbeat was evident again and was approx 150. I have read that the error is plus or minus 7 days. My Dr. was reassured by the hb but did say that sometimes a smaller crown/rump measurement can be a sign of a threatened m/c. Is there any data on this? As I compare the u/s pictures of the two dates there is a noticeable size difference. The one done today at 9w2d being much larger. Is it possible that the calulation was incorrect? I know I am grasping at straws! I just am afraid I will be stressing over this for the next four weeks until my next appt. Any advise or comments are appreciated.
