36 weeks lower abdominal painsFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 10 May 2002 13:19:23 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I am 36 + weeks with baby number 1. Had exam by midwife yesterday and Baby is in the cephalic lie, with head 3/5 engaged into my pelvis. Last night, I experienced severe left sided abdominal pain whilst trying to sleep in bed. The baby was active at the time, and in that area and the pain resolved in about 10 minutes.. Today, I have experienced and hour or two of severe menstrual type cramps in my lower abdo and back...sort of like wind also..worse with movement. at the time my abdomen was hard like braxton Hicks. Could this pain be the result of the baby engaging further..or contractions that stopped? Or could this be a sign of an abruption? should I get seen? Baby is active Thanks for any help, m/w does not want to see me until two weeks unless water breaks or contractions every 10 minutes..
