I'm now 11w3d pregnanct and throughout the whole first trimester I am trying hard to avoid second hand smoking. It's about 5-6 blocks' walk between our office building and the train station (I work in NY). Everyday everywhere you could find people smoking. Whenever I catch someone smoking I would cover my nose and mouth and then when I pass that person I put my hand down. But then 2 seconds later I would see another person walking before me is lighting a cigarette so I have to cover my nose&mouth again. This goes on and on and until I get into the train station or office building. So I just can't avoid it. Do you think what I am doing is the right way to protect my fetus or I am overacting? Thanks very much for your idea!
