Re: Pediatrician Interviews?From: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Apr 2002 18:29:49 -0500 (CDT)
There's a short list in "The Baby Book" by Dr. Sears of ideas on what to ask. I thought there might also be one in the "What to Expect When you are expecting" book but I can't remember. I know one point that stuck with me was about circumcisions (if you're planning on having doc do that). They either can give a numbing shot first or just "do it" which I think is barbaric. So of course, I wanted to make sure it was their office practice to always give the shot since the docs rotate that duty. The first doctor I interviewed seemed a little cold whereas the second was warm and friendly so that made my choice easy as all the other factors were about the same. Also, second doc was pregnant with #2 so I knew she was VERY familiar with newborns and toddlers whereas the other doc was into the teenage years with his kids. Good luck!
