How accurate our ultrasounds for the weight of a baby?

I had an ultrasound at 36 wks 4 days and the ultrasound predicted my baby to be about 6 1/2 pounds. Well my daughter was born at my 36th week and I was wondering if this weight is that accurate. They are predicting a 9 pound baby or so. My first child was 9 lbs. 14 ozs. and the doctor thought he would be only 7 pounds. Of course this is the first time I have had an ultrasound this late in pregnancy, but I am very curious if it could be wrong.
