Re: Nausea increasing instead of decreasingFrom: Abbey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 24 Apr 2002 14:24:56 -0500 (CDT)
I had a similar pattern with my nausea. I mostly just gagged a lot the first trimester- didn't start throwing up until about 10 weeks or so. I think it reached a peak around 16 weeks or so, but I was still throwing up some until at least 22-23 weeks. Really, it's only been the last 4 weeks or so that I have had no nausea at all- and I'm now 38 weeks! I never developed hyperemesis gravidarum or anything like that, but had a very miserable 2nd trimester nonetheless. Every book I read said the same thing- that nausea virtually always resolves by the 2nd trimester, that I should have been feeling great, etc. etc. etc. Who knows what's going on? One thing you might consider is a possible gall bladder problem- gallstones are more common in pregnancy and should probably be ruled out first.
