I'm not a doctor, but I would think it would depend on the reason why your mother's labor was long and whether the daughter shares that characteristic. There are so many variables: size of baby, pelvic size, maternal health, differing medical techniques, and many more. My labors were nothing like my mother's. Unless you can find a scientific study that documented and followed the labors of thousands of women and their daughters,(have never heard of one) you'll have a hard time dispelling any myths that are based on anecdotal evidence.
