I am not a dr, but just finished having a workup done for recurrent m/cs after suffering two in 6 months. The tests that were performed on me by my RE included an endometrial biopsy (to assess whether my uterine lining was in phase with af), a hysteroscopy (which is a look inside the uterus to determine if there are any abnormalities, scarring or fibroids, and a lot of blood work which tested for AIDs, Lupus, anticardiolipin clotting issues, thyroid levels, fsh levels, progesterone levels, and estrogen levels. My husband and I also had genetic kareotypes performed. The whole workup took about 1 1/2 months to complete since just about every test that was done had to be correlated to a specific point in my cycle. I do not find a definitive cause for my m/cs (my RE thinks it is probably age related since I am 40), but did find that I had a borderline underactive thyroid. According to one of the docs on here, they find a cause only 30% of the time. It is worth doing, however, because either they will find a cause (which can hopefully be treated) or you will know that there is nothing wrong (other than bad luck) and you will probably be successful the next time out. Best of luck, and again I am sorry for your losses. Alison
