Re: 26 week fetal movement

Wow, that sounds exactly like me, except it's my first pregnancy. I felt my first movements around 18 weeks, but they were extremely faint- more like tiny little twinges for the first 4 weeks or so. I often worried that the baby wasn't moving enough, so I was always rushing off to my OB's office to listen for a heartbeat. I found out that I have an anterior placenta, which masks a lot of the kicking when the baby is down low. From 22 to 28 weeks, it got a little stronger, but still seemed very inconsistent. Then right after my 28 week appointment, everything changed dramatically: huge, strong kicks, rolls, punches all day long. I'm now 37 weeks and he hasn't stopped since! I suspect that he probably turned head down at 28 weeks, so he was no longer kicking the placenta. I've never been kicked in the ribs either, though I've gotten a number of very painful kicks when he kicks that leg wayyyy wayyy out! It's pretty amazing-I can't believe I ever worried that he wasn't kicking enough!
