Re: 26 week fetal movement

I tend to carry my kids low so I've never had a kick in the ribs (thank goodness). This is my second pregnancy and was reading in my pregnancy book that babies tend to get more active in the 3rd trimester (28 weeks). I did not read that out loud but somehow I believe my son read it too! At 28 weeks exactly he started doing his gymnastics (I was beginning to wonder because I hadn't felt many big movements up to that point). I feel most of the tickly movements around my hips (I believe feet and hands are tickly me as he's still head up). But I've been feeling more rolls this last week so you may just have not reached that gymnastics stage yet! I had such a big baby move yesterday that my 4 year old saw it through my dress as were were sitting quietly at church. His eyes got real big and he said (in a normal voice at least which was still loud for church), "Daddy, did you see that? Mommy's belly just moved!" And they say it is harder for first time moms to feel baby movement.

If you are really concerned, you can always call your doc and ask. But you may just be getting ready for the real movements! Good luck!
