Multiple D&C and risk for placenta acreta/increta/percreta?From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 12 Apr 2002 14:07:06 -0500 (CDT)
I have heard and taken it for a sure thing that if you have intrauterine scarring you will not get pregnant or if you do you will miscarry. But recently I have read a lot about women having previous c-section or having scars from intrauterine surgery like D&C carry to term and the only problem is that they develop placenta acreta, or increta, or percreta. I even read that one woman with severe Asherman's Syndrom carried to term and gave birth to a healthy baby and her dr. said it can happen with a good quality embryo. 1. So that means that not everyone who has intrauterine scarring will have problem with fertility, right? 2. If you have multiple D&Cs due to m/c will that put you at higher risk for placenta increta/increta/percreta in future pregnancies if you do get pregnant and the embryo implants well? Thank you very much for your help!
