Clomed/Artificial Insem.From: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 12 Apr 2002 14:01:22 -0500 (CDT)
My husband and I are undergoing treatment for infertility, including Clomed, HCG Injections and artificial inseminations. So far, we have been through one cycle including two inseminations which did not result in pregnancy. I have heard that Clomed increases the lining of the uterus (and cervix, maybe?) obvioulsy in addition to increasing follicle size, which is why I'm taking it. I've also heard that the "denser" lining can make it more difficult for the sperm to get to the right place. A friend told me that taking a tablespoon of Robitussin for the days surrouding the inseminations will help "thin out the lining" to make the sperms' job easier. Two questions relating to this: 1. Has anyone tried this? and if so, did that cycle result in pregnancy? 2. Does anyone know if "thinning the lining" this way could cause any adverse side effects?
