21 weeks and 80% effacedFrom: Jacy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 9 Apr 2002 17:58:34 -0500 (CDT)
HI.....I kindly would appreciate some advice here........let me give you a little history, Im 24 years old....have a daughter that is now two.....I had a "perfect" pregnancy with her....Gave birth exactly on my due date after 4 hours of labor....In that pregnancy, I was 100% effaced at 36 weeks..............Im currently 21 weeks pregnant with my 2nd pregnancy, really havent had any problems until at 17 weeks and had the stomach flu, which caused alot of contractions which led my doc to check my cervix......WHen she checked my cervix, all she said was that it was "thin" I never really asked how thin. Her advice was too rest, and I did. Since then she has checked me two more times, this last time she told me that my cervix was the same, I asked how much and she told me 80%!!!!!!!! She really didnt say much, I have to see a nurse in 4 weeks for my glucose test, so I wont see the doc again for another 8 weeks. The problem is she really didnt seem that concerned, should I be? Does this mean I am destined for premature labor, or is there a possibility I could carry to term.....I have no other problems...no group b, urine ok, and baby is fine.........Could someone please help me and give some advice....Im very worried........THanks
