I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism since the birth of my first child, born 8/28/01. At first my tsh level was 5.6, but now it has risen to 33 after 3 months of treatment with .25 of Unithroid. My dose has been increased to .1mg of Unithroid. What is the likelihood that my thyroid will return to normal functioning? I have heard that many women who are diagnosed after pregnancy will return to normal. Thanks.
