Perinatologist Appt....What to expect?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 8 Apr 2002 09:15:25 -0500 (CDT)
I have a perinatologist appt next week and was wondering what to expect. I have a history of PTL with pregnancy number 1(32 weeks, breathine and bed rest, delivered at 37) and I am currently 23 weeks pregnant. I have been having contractions since week 16 (BH not changing cervix). I can control them by drinking H20 and staying off of my feet. The problem is that I am a Physical Education Teacher and I do not have the luxury of doing so when I am at work. This past week we were off from school and I was home. I noticed a severe decline in the number of contractions I had. If a patient asks to be taken out of work, does it look like suspicious? Do Dr.'s get aggravted by that? The last time I saw my OB he did say there may come a time when I may not be able to work. If it comes down to the health of my baby or work, the baby prevails. Should I express this to them?
