Re: 33 weeks and edgy about waterFrom: Diane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 7 Apr 2002 07:59:50 -0500 (CDT)
Hi LaDonna, Everyone's body is so different - your tolerance of pain, progression of labor.... I understand your concerns, we've all been there with our first. I ended up being induced at 41 weeks, no gush of waters - just a trickle, contractions were uncomfortable but techniques learned in my birthing class (Bradley Method) were beneficial, no pain medications needed, fast progression (4 hrs from nothing to fully dilated). You will definetly know when you are in labor and most likely have time to get to the hospital and call someone to help you. To me, contractions felt like really tight muscles and lots of pressure. My suggestions are to know what techniques help YOU to relax and to read those birthing books so that you know the general signs to expect during stages of labor because as I said, everyone is so different. Good luck!
