Sheri, I have a BabyBeat doppler, and couldn't find the hb the first few times either. I suggest starting right above your pubic bone, and move it very very slowly, from the center to the left side, then to the right side. I'm now 18 weeks, and can find the hb much quicker than the nurse at my OB's office! I've heard that if you're overweight, you might not find the hb till 14 weeks or later.

Knowing you have a good ultrasound should help alleviate your fears till the time is right! If you have a store-bought doppler, the nurse told me that those won't pick up a hb till approx 22 weeks.
