1st Miscarriage - protocol questionFrom: Sara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 3 Apr 2002 17:32:57 -0600 (CST)
Good afternoon. I just found out that I had a "missed abortion". I was 11 weeks pregnant. It appears the baby stopped developing 2 1/2 weeks ago, however, the gestational sac was said to be 11 week's size. I have had one successful full-term pregnancy with no problems 2 years ago. I'm in my late thirties and started menstruating at a very early age (i'm not sure if that matters...). What is the typical medical protocol following a miscarriage - considering my history? My doctor believes this is just one of those flukes of nature. She hasn't offered any type of testing. Is this standard procedure? Thank you, Sara
