8 weeks fetal size question

I'm a little over 8 wks preg and I had a u/s on Monday. We saw the little bean and the tiny beating heart. My obgyn didn't give me a heartrate but said things looked to be coming along fine.

He said the baby measured 13mm. I have a book that says 13mm is a 7 wk size for a baby. Is it normal to have 13mm at 8 1/2 weeks preg?
