Taking Benadryl long term okay for baby?

I was diagnosed with PUPPP, PUPP, PUPPS (however you want to abbreviate it). I tried the oatmeal baths, cool cloths, cutting my nail down as far as I can, but was still totally losing my mind. The doctor told me to take Benadryl every 4 hours. I did that for about a week straight which brought me some relief. I then tapered off because of my concern for the baby. Well, it's back! I wake up scratching (especially my neck). Am about to go back to the Benadryl every 4 hours, but it makes me so sleepy and I have a 4 year old to take care of. I will definitely address this with my OB at my April 8 appt. I don't want to hurt the baby, but I can't deal with this itching for another 14 weeks!

By the way, I need to start keeping a journal so my son will know some day all the things that Mommy went through to get him here!
