For Dr. and women 35 and younger who have had 2 or more missed abortions due to trisomy! From: Jenny (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Mar 2002 07:36:43 -0600 (CST)
I'm a 31 y/o woman and have had 3 miscarriages with the second and third being missed abortions. The second one was due to trisomy 22 and this one I'm still waiting for it to natually abort coz I don't want another D&C and I don't think it's necessary to test the embryo again since I believe it must be another trisomy or any kind of chromosome anomaly. DH and I both have normal kayotype and have normal result from every singel test related to recurrent m/c so I think something must be wrong with us genetically since at our age (DH 32) 3 consecutive m/c due to chromosome problem can't be simply explained by bad luck or being age-related. I suspect that there might be chromosome probelm in my ovary or DH's testes even if they only found a couple of such cases across the whole world. So my question is that if the same or similar situation happened to you did you find out any real reason behind this and what kind of tests did you go through and did you have successful p/g later on either natually or with the help of modern technology? I'm thinking maybe IVF with preimplantation genetic diagnosis would be our only option? I'm so desperate to find an answer! Thanks VERY MUCH for your help at this critical time!
