hcg too low at 12dpo?From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 29 Mar 2002 15:22:28 -0600 (CST)
I just got an hcg level of only 18 on the 12th day after the 2nd iui (with clomid/perganol). Progesterone was over 80 and estradiol was 681. I am on progesterone and estrogen supplements. The nurse said hcg needs to be 100 by day 14, and that 18 is too low to be considered viable. She said it's probably a chemical pregnancy. I convinced the nurse that I would like to continue meds and retake hcg on Monday to see if it rises. I've seen a range of hcg charts and I do fall within the lower end. I have two questions: If hcg doubles in the next 3 days, should I be hopeful or will it be considered too low? Is there hope if I reach an hcg of 100 in 2-3 days or is this pregnancy doomed? Thanks.
