Re: TO SONYA Pl. share your experience on injectibles(eg Follistim, Repronex)From: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 26 Mar 2002 09:16:17 -0600 (CST)
Sonya, I used Follistim in Sept 2000, my cycle lasted a little longer than some, I did the injections for 3 weeks before there where 2 eggs big enough to have the HCG shot. At the beginning the dose was the same towards the end they regulated as needed. I work full time, I did the injections at home every night at 6pm. They only thing that took time where the ultrasound they needed to do to keep an eye on the eggs. At first it was every three to four days that I had to go in to the drs office whcich was an hour away from me, then towards the end it was everyday, but fortunately the office opened early I would be there for 7:30, done by eight and to work by 9am, if I needed to make up any work I stayed later those days. One thing I did do was tell my boss in confidence what I was doing and how things where going to work out. When I did the inseminations I took off the two mornings in a row and was in work by 12 noon. The second day I decided to stay home just becasue I think I was burnt out more than anything. I didn't have any side affects whatsoever. They only thing that was painful was after, the inseminations I felt like I hurt my back but it was the ovaires hurting from the simulation. By the way the cycle worked and I have a little boy 10 months old and that was my first cycle with injections.
